Wolfgang Schwabe learnt to play qin with the Qin master Ge Hancong (葛瀚聰) in Taiwan. After random performances with LTK, a Taiwanese punk band, in the late nineties, he has been regularly performing in Taipei and Berlin playing Echtzeit Musik. In 2018 the CD “180818” with Lin Hui-Chun was released (https://huichunlin.bandcamp.com/album/180818).
He is the co-founder of the “International Conference on Guqin, Aesthetics and Humanism” and has published numerous articles on Qin aesthetics. He holds a PhD in Chinese Studies from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in Philosophy from the National Taiwan University. His translation of the “Aspects of the Qin between Mountains and Streams” (谿山琴況) is to be published in winter 2025.
In his music he draws on the aesthetics and techniques of the classical qin to confront a contemporary music scene overloaded with dogma. The rich tradition of the qin offers multiple perspectives to connect to non-Western and Western traditions to weave new patterns and create new sounds. 活動地點位於三貂嶺，界於瑞芳與雙溪之間，沿途有獨特的瀑布山澗景致，豐沛溪水流入基隆河自然原始河道的上游區段，形成如水墨古畫中的谿山場景。
｜谿山行旅｜為一場偶然的交集實驗，串連了多方領域的工作者，在衝擊與矛盾的世道之間，期以清、靜、遠、古的逸趣來滋潤內心。
邀請您一同前來，閑坐於三貂嶺的山凹之間，領略古琴的況味，享受茶湯的滋味。

古琴深沉、悠遠的音色，在漢代開始有專書闡述（桓譚的琴道），漢學學者施維禮擅長以古琴的樂音表現，建構其音樂特性與當代哲思關係的對話。席間他將分別演奏蘊含道家精神的三首琴曲「『無』聲三奏」：《招隱》、《玄默》、《長清》。《招隱》表現對於隱居的嚮往，《玄默》敘述人與道融為一體的過程，而《長清》則直接展現天然的和諧。
施維禮 Wolfgang Schwabe
出生於德國，分別獲得德國柏林自由大學、國立臺灣大學，漢學研究及哲學研究雙博士，曾經為佛光大學副教授，任教於哲學系以及文化資產與創意系，目前為獨立學者，專注於寫作。古琴師承台灣琴家葛瀚聰，他以古琴傳統指法參與當代實驗音樂。進行中的《谿山琴況》德文翻譯將於2025年底出版。
